Kyle Matthias, the head brewer at Sandy Valley, brings over nine years of brewing knowledge and experience. Matthias’ brewing journey began unexpectedly when he decided to take a brewing course during his pursuit of a Doctorate in Nutritional Biology at UC-Davis. From there, he dropped out of his doctorate program and moved back to St. Louis to pursue brewing full-time.
St. Louis CITY SC fans can now add a new beer to their game-day repertoire. Tim Parker, center back and all-star player for the team, has partnered with St. Louis-based 4 Hands Brewing Co. to create Parker Pilsner. This American-style pilsner made its debut at 4 Hands before St. Louis City SC returned to CITYPARK to defeat Austin FC in a stunning 6 – 3 victory!
The Voltron-inspired beer series starts with the release of “Volume One,” a Hazy IPA brewed by 4 Hands Brewing in partnership with Narrow Gauge Brewing Co. The collaboration between the two breweries resulted in a super citrusy IPA enriched with Thiolized Yeast, Citra, Mosaic and Galaxy Hops, boasting a 7.5 ABV.
Urban Chestnut Brewing Company and the Saint Louis Zoo have again joined forces to raise awareness about animal welfare and conservation through a special brew. STL Zoo Bier Red Panda Light Lager, a clean and easy-drinking beer, pays tribute to the zoo’s red pandas, Pete and Winnie, featuring the adorable species on its can.
Since the Roadhouse Brewery Group completed its acquisition of Melvin Brewing Co. last December, the future of Melvin Brewing’s Eureka location in the St. Louis area has been uncertain.
